Culture Night x GENTS
The Copenhagen synthpop duo GENTS takes over Nikolaj Kunsthal during Culture Night 2025 with an intense performance that unfolds a pop-romantic universe inhabited by escapist synthesizers and seductive melodies. The concert – which can be experienced at both 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm – takes place at the spacious Lower Gallery, which currently hosts the exhibition “Copenhagen-Berlin: Gateway to the World.” There is, of course, free access to the venue’s other exhibitions: “BOOGIE” by Evren Tekinoktay (Upper Gallery) and “Play Pen Prodigy” by Sofie Winther x SOS Megazine (Platform).
Guided tour – at the top of Nikolaj Tower
Join a guided tour and hear about Nikolaj’s iconic tower with its unique copper spire, or simply enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the city from 35 meters above ground.
Although the church interior of Nikolaj Church is newer than it appears, the tower stands as a living monument to the church, which for centuries has been a landmark of Copenhagen. Talk: The Art of Shaping Cities
How can we ensure the dynamic development of Europe’s capitals – and what role do artists play in shaping the cities of tomorrow? How can urban planning foster spaces that encourage collaboration between artists, architects, and other creatives – while contributing to positive social change and inclusive diversity?
Art on Parental Leave (Kunst på Barsel)
Slow down with your baby in your arms as Nikolaj Kunsthal, in collaboration with Kunst på Barsel, invites the very youngest (ages 0–2) and their parents to an exclusive guided tour of the current exhibitions.
The tour begins at 10:00 AM, giving participants the entire art hall to themselves before it opens to the public at 11:00. There’s plenty of room for prams, bottles, and diaper changes – and a café where you can buy coffee, tea, and cookies.
Open House: On Top of the World!
Join us for a trip up the historic Nikolaj Tower and enjoy a panoramic view of Copenhagen from 35 metres above the ground. From here, you’ll have a clear view of many of the city’s architectural landmarks – from the Marble Church, inaugurated in 1894, to Bjarke Ingels' CopenHill, from the 16-kilometre-long Øresund Bridge to Denmark’s first high-rise buildings: the Bellahøj Towers.
Multiple tours will take place on both days, starting at 11:30 AM. Admission is free, but capacity is limited. Registration is required.
Copenhagen Architecture Biennial 2025
Join us as the Copenhagen Architecture Biennale launches simultaneously across a wide range of art and cultural institutions – not least at Nikolaj Kunsthal!
Enjoy a laid-back pop-up slow-down bar outside on Nikolaj Plads, happy hour, and free admission to Nikolaj Kunsthal’s current exhibitions. The exhibitions unfold within the unique historical and architectural setting in the heart of central Copenhagen, where past and present meet.
