Valentine’s Day at Nikolaj Kunsthal
Explore the art centre’s newly opened exhibitions together on a single Valentine’s ticket. It’s a great opportunity to share an art experience, whether you’re planning a romantic date or a relaxed visit with a close friend.
The exhibition "Københavnerstykker II" (Copenhagen Pieces II) offers a kaleidoscopic shortcut to contemporary art. Here, you can discover more than 230 works by nearly 150 artists, acquired by the Visual Arts Council for the City of Copenhagen between 2022 and 2025. As you move through the exhibition, you’ll encounter works by well-known names such as Jens Haaning, Apolonia Sokol & Noah Umur Kanber, Tine Bek, and Inuuteq Storch, alongside works by emerging talents including Aia Sofia Coverley Turan, Davide Hjort Di Fabio, Ioana Ispas, and Martha Hviid.
In the Platform project space, you can also explore the exhibition "Rest and Routine – Duet for Sanatorium and Modern Hospital", which examines how healthcare architecture shapes our understanding of care, healing, and human presence. The exhibition is created by visual artist and electronic composer Cecilie Penney in collaboration with architect and curator Lawrence Ebelle.
Your +1 Valentine’s ticket also grants free entry to the Museum of Copenhagen and Thorvaldsens Museum on the same day. Both museums are just a short walk from Nikolaj Kunsthal, making it easy to plan a small cultural round trip.
