Platform 2022-2024

In February 2022, Nikolaj Kunsthal opened Platform with the aim of creating a dedicated project space focused on presenting new contemporary art. A committee of art professionals, with their respective experience and insight, have contributed to a sharp and forward-looking selection of artists and curators. 

Dual focus on artists and curators 
Since the opening of Platform on 11 February 2022, visitors to Nikolaj Kunsthal have been able to experience exciting exhibitions created by artist and curator combinations such as Ditte Marie Frost & Mai Dengsøe, Ruby Mariama & Aysha Amin, Clara Busch & Nanna Saplana, Astrid Sonne & Ilethia Sharp, Lina Hashim x Anne Zychalak Stolten, Simin Stine Ramezanali x Pauline Koffi Vandet & Ida Højgaard and Benjamin A. H. Harpsøe x Anna Clarisse Holck Wæhrens. The Platform concept's dual focus on both artists and curators is a key conceptual approach.   

Artistic Director at Nikolaj Kunsthal Helene Nyborg Bay elaborates:   
“Platform's dual focus on both artists and curators is important for the project, as it places both parts in a new context where they have to work together on a concept. I always look forward to seeing the results of the committee's selection and composition unfold in practice, and I am proud that we as an institution can support the young scene in this way”. 

In the period 2022-2024, the committee consisted of Lotte Løvholm (curator, editor, writer), Christopher Sand-Iversen (art historian and writer), Anders Kjær Rasmussen (curator and art historian) and Natalia Gutman (curator and art historian).
