About Christian Skjødt Hasselstrøm and "Meridians"
This autumn, Nikolaj Kunsthal’s Lower Gallery is transformed into a cosmic listening station as Christian Skjødt Hasselstrøm takes over the soaring space with Meridians. The exhibition unfolds at the intersection of sound, visual art and natural science.

Cosmic rays — high-energy particles from outer space — constantly pass through our surroundings and our bodies like an invisible rain. In a new, monumental and site-specific sound installation, Hasselstrøm transforms the Lower Gallery into a sensory space where the invisible becomes physically present, and where our constant connection to the universe is brought into focus.

Christian Skjødt Hasselstrøm (b. 1980) is an artist and composer, educated at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus/Aalborg and based in Copenhagen. His works have been shown internationally, and he has received recognition from Prix Ars Electronica and the Japan Media Arts Festival.

"Meridians" is on view at Nikolaj Kunsthal until 10 January 2027.
