Experience Copenhagen from the Top of Nikolaj Tower
Every day at 1:00 PM, you have the chance to see Copenhagen from the top of Nikolaj Tower. From the lookout point, 35 metres up, you'll be treated to a stunning panoramic view of the city.
Tickets for the tower tour are sold in the café on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the tour. Price: DKK 50.
Please note that capacity is limited, and a separate ticket is required for the tower tour.
Tower tour tickets do not include admission to Nikolaj Kunsthal’s current exhibitions.
Art Bar Extravaganza 2025
I perioden 15.-24. maj er der masser af muligheder for at lade sig betage, forarge, forføre eller frastøde af den uregerlige samtidskunst. Under navnet Art Bar Extravaganza danner Nikolaj Kunsthal rammen om åbningen af Art Matter Festival 2025. Det intensive program, der indleder festivalen, byder på et eklektisk mix af performance, dans og musik – både udenfor på Nikolaj Plads og indenfor i Nikolaj Kunsthals gallerier.
Behind "Breaking Darkness"
Step into Lars Von Trier's distinctive universe, guided by the passionate art educators from Nikolaj Kunsthal, and meet some of the contributors who helped create the exhibition "Breaking Darkness”, a total-installation tribute to the unique filmmaker. You will experience the exhibition in the company of Nikolaj Kunsthal's artistic director and a few of the creative collaborators who assisted in developing the exhibition. Morning Ceremony
Start your morning at Nikolaj Kunsthal’s spacious Lower Gallery with coffee and atmospheric organ music performed by, among others, the talented organist Sergei Teplyi. The ceremony takes place amidst the current Lars Von Trier exhibition Breaking Darkness, a scenographic ode to the unique filmmaker.
Entry is free. Coffee and croissants are available for purchase in the café.
Trier’s Sublime Universe and Consistent Character Depiction
Under the title “Trier’s Sublime Universe and Consistent Character Depiction”, researcher and author Lilian Munk Rösing will discuss Lars von Trier’s visually rich settings and his portrayals of women. The dialogue, which will be conducted in Danish, takes place in connection with the current exhibition “Breaking Darkness” and will be moderated by visual artist Augusta Atla.
It costs 110 DKK to attend the event, which includes one (1) glass of wine in the ticket price.
