Where do you dream of saying the most important ‘yes’ of your life? With art as a co-creator, love preacher and set design, couples-to-be, as part of Golden Days, can be married by artist Noah Umur Kanber at the spacious Lower Gallery of Nikolaj Kunsthal.

On Saturday 13 September, Golden Days and ten of the country’s leading cultural institutions invite you to the largest wedding and celebration of love of the year. Read much more about 'The Big Day' – and how to apply to get married – right here.

Svante Lindeburg, director of Golden Days, talks about the ambitions for the project:

“With ‘The Big Day’, we are introducing a new love ritual for those who miss the solemnity but don’t want the religious aspect, where there is room for everyone. A ritual that opens up one of the great moments of life and asks how we, as modern people, mark and immortalise love for those closest to us. Since 1989, Denmark has been a pioneer in new forms of marriage ceremonies. So who knows – perhaps this ritual could prove to be a lasting form of wedding, alongside, for example, humanist confirmations”.

In addition to ‘The Big Day’, Golden Days will this year celebrate love in all its forms with a 17-day festival from 5 to 21 September.
