Invisible Connections – Dive into Nikolaj Kunsthal’s Current Exhibitions #1

We look forward to welcoming visitors to a series of events that activate our three current exhibitions in different ways, offering new perspectives and stories. Admission is free from 4–7 pm. Read more about the programme below: 

4.15 pm - Emma Rosenzweig introduces the film work “HOLE” 
In our Platform project space, artist and writer Emma Rosenzweig introduces her new film work “HOLE”. The film follows three women who retreat to a remote country house, where the boundaries between their inner lives and the surrounding landscape gradually begin to dissolve. “HOLE” explores loss, fear, transformation, and community and is created in an expressive black-and-white 16 mm film language with music by Cæcilie Trier. 

5.15 pm - Cosmic Radiation – Between Art and Particle Physics 
What does cosmic radiation mean for life on Earth, and what can it tell us about the past and the future? Artist Christian Skjødt Hasselstrøm and particle physicist Jørgen Beck Hansen meet for a conversation inspired by the exhibition “Meridians”. At the intersection of sound, visual art, and science, the exhibition explores cosmic phenomena that constantly surround us but normally escape our senses and attention. 

6.00 pm - Dance Performance: “Edge of Interference” 
Experience choreographer and dancer Dorotea Saykaly in “Edge of Interference”, which explores the body as a receptor – a living circuit that receives, transmits, and interprets invisible forces. Drawing on Christian Skjødt Hasselstrøm’s exhibition “Meridians”, the performance unfolds between body, sound, and cosmic radiation, where connections emerge, are disrupted, and re-formed. The performance has been created especially for the exhibition by Studio D+E. 

6.30 pm - Guided Tour of Maria Wæhrens’ Exhibition “The Answer” 
The programme concludes with a guided tour of Maria Wæhrens’ critically acclaimed and awarded exhibition “The Answer” at the Upper Gallery. Together with one of Nikolaj Kunsthal’s hosts, you can take a closer look at the exhibition’s expressive paintings and spatial installations, where body, gender, and identity are never entirely fixed but remain in constant transformation. The tour offers an opportunity to explore details in the works and discover new perspectives on the exhibition.
