Platform - Benjamin A. H. Harpsøe x Anna Clarisse Holck Wæhrens

Through 3D printed sculpture, collage, sound and video, Benjamin A. H. Harpsøe's exhibition Barndommens gade functions as a tool to examine and reflect on his upbringing on Christiania's Pusher Street

We are excited to announce the final Platform exhibition of the season. The sixth in the series. Join us for visual artist Benjamin A. H. Harpsøe's exhibition, Dreams of a Childhood (Barndommens gade).

Benjamin A. H. Harpsøe's intention with the exhibition is to show an emotional and distraught insight in a difficult childhood on Christianias Pusherstreet, through 3D printed sculpture, collage, sound and moving picture. The show is curated by Anna Clarisse Holck Wæhrens.

Save the date! On January 16th, from 4-6 PM, we will be hosting a conversation between Benjamin A. H. Harpsøe and artist Joachim Koester. Both artists share a unique and complex connection to the freetown Christiania. More info later. Free Admission.

About Benjamin A. H. Harpsøe

Benjamin A. H. Harpsøe's (b. 1986) sculptures explore the agency and energy of objects, challenging the perceived opposition between subject and object. He uses present-day production tools such as 3D printing and scanning to create intricate sculptures that blur the boundaries between the natural and artificial. In his recent work Harpsøe engages with his upbringing in Christiania from a somewhat uncomfortable position between the community ‘s unseen hierarchy and the extraneous pressure from the Danish state. Benjamin A. H. Harpsøe Holds a MFA from Malmö Art Academy, a BFA from Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten, Den Haag and participated in a year-long residency at The Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm. He has exhibited with amongst others Kunsthal Charlottenborg (DK), Gallery Ron Mandos (NL), Ta·da (DK), pro tempore.art (DK), Indebt Gallery (NL), OK Corral (DK), OUTPOST Gallery (DK) and I would die for anything (DE).
