Art on Parental Leave (Kunst på Barsel) * Københavnerstykker II
On Thursday, 19 February, we invite parents with children aged 0–2 to a special guided tour of “Københavnerstykker II”. The exhibition presents an extensive collection of artworks acquired between 2022 and 2025 by the Council for Visual Art on behalf of the City of Copenhagen.
A shortcut to Contemporary Art
More than 230 works by nearly 150 different artists are shown side by side at Nikolaj Kunsthal. The artworks are part of a growing public art collection that is usually displayed across the city’s municipal institutions and workplaces — including libraries, treatment centres, job centres, schools and mayoral offices — bringing art into everyday spaces for staff, users and citizens alike.
The guided tour begins at 10:00, giving participants and their children exclusive access to the Kunsthal until 11:00. There is ample room for prams and baby care, as well as access to the café, where coffee, tea and cookies are available at favourable prices.
The guided tour is led by Malou Solfjeld – mother, art historian and founder of Kunst på Barsel (Art on Parental Leave). The tour is expertly supported by educator and art historian Rie Linnea Lindgren-Olsen.
For several years, Kunst på Barsel has attracted full houses with guided tours at museums and art centres, specifically designed for parents on parental leave.
Please note that tickets are sold as part of a combined package including several other Kunst på Barsel activities. Read more about pricing and the full programme here.
