In the exhibition "Clocks", visual artist Naja Zethner explores drawing as a living system of body, time and movement. A series of large-scale coloured pencil drawings of spiral-shaped millipedes takes the artist’s own body as a measuring instrument. Like clock faces, the segmented creatures become images that measure, adjust and point — between microscopy, ecology and choreography.

"Clocks" consists of eight square, large-scale drawings made with coloured pencil on paper. Their format corresponds to the span of the artist’s outstretched arms, using the body itself as a tool of measurement. The circular motif and the millipede’s spiral emerge from the axis of the body, transferred onto the surface of the paper. Like a clock face, the creature’s appearance becomes an image that measures, adjusts, shows and points.

Naja Zethner works with drawing, text writing and painting. She is interested in sensory impressions, scores and image-making. Through exaggerated forms of microscopy, she explores the image as an ongoing living system, reflecting her engagement with contemporary ecology, choreography, image theory and culture.

The exhibition is curated by Jennifee-See Alternate, an artist collective and exhibition space that has existed in various constellations since 2019.

"Clocks" is the third Platform exhibition of 2026. The opening takes place on Thursday 11 June, 16:00–19:00, with a DJ and free beer from Depanneur - first come, first served!

The exhibition has been realised with support from Beckett-Fonden, Knud Højgaards Fond, Rådet for Visuel Kunst, Statens Kunstfond and Københavns Kommune. The project space Platform is realised with generous support from Det Obelske Familiefond.
