Opening Party * Evren Tekinoktay * København-Berlin: Portalen til verden * Platform
We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of guests when we open three new exhibitions on Wednesday 27 August from 4 pm. As always, you can expect music, pop-up food, performances – and hopefully a touch of late summer sunshine generously bathing Nikolaj Plads! Entry is free, and the first quick guests get a free beer. Everyone is welcome.
We’re excited to present three new exhibitions:
Upper Gallery:
Experience a solo exhibition by Danish-Turkish artist Evren Tekinoktay, who presents a poetic and sensory universe made up of new neon works, knotted tapestries, and richly detailed collages. Driven by intuition – both as method and as mood – her artistic practice resonates with viewers on a deeply personal level. Moving effortlessly across disciplines, Tekinoktay’s work spans visual art, design, perfume, and lingerie. Read more about the exhibition.
Lower Gallery & Middle Step:
The group exhibition "Copenhagen–Berlin: Gateway to the World" zooms in on the fertile era in Berlin following the fall of the Wall. Taking place in the high-ceilinged Lower Gallery and on the Mezzanine, the exhibition focuses on a selection of artists from Copenhagen who were drawn to Berlin’s transformation in the wake of the East–West fusion. Featuring works by Alexander Tillegreen, Cassie Augusta Jørgensen, Deniz Eroglu, Dina El Kaisy Friemuth, Gitte Villesen, Lise Harlev, Tommy Støckel, Ulrik Møller, and Vinyl-terror & -horror. Read more about the exhibition.
Platform:
Platform is a project space dedicated to showcasing new artists and curators through six annual exhibitions. On 27 August, we celebrate the opening of a new exhibition created by visual artist Sofie Winther in collaboration with the curatorial collective SOS. Read more about Platform.
